Maths Centre is finally up and running in the Western Cape Province. The NYDA EE project has build an accredited name for the centre in the province and establish a sound relationship not only with the donor, but also with the Western Cape Department of Education. This project is servicing 10 high schools in the Cape Town metropolitan. These schools are all in previously disadvantage communities and the project aims to equip learners with skills to alleviate poverty.

The province also rapidly expanded with the inception of the WCED Numeracy Intervention. The project is funded by the Western Cape Education Department and it is running in all 8 Districts in the province. The project aims to increase learner performance in numeracy grade 1 – 3 and mathematics grade 4 -6 in 125 schools across the province. The project service both poor achieving and high achieving schools and want to bring about a methodology change in the system.
