Maths Centre's coordinator for the Accounting part of the Cell C project, Milford Malunga , visited the St. Bernads centre in Bloemfontein. The purpose for the visit was to meet learners and tutors, and also to see how the project is running. He sat in the Accounting class to observe how the lesson progressed.
He then had an interview with two learners to find out how they are coping and how they benefit from the programme. One learner said that he was privileged to be chosen for the project as he is learning a lot from his other colleagues as well as from the tutor. The methods that the tutor uses make things a lot easier for him to understand. Sharing with other learners is also beneficial to him as he is able to gain more knowledge.

The other learner said that the programme has given her a chance to test her knowledge. As a top student at her school, she thought that she knows all, but since engaging with students from other schools she has realised that there is a lot that she still need to learn. She finds the competition challenging and making her focus more on her studies. She hopes to do better at the end of the year and wish to study Actuarial Sciences or to be a CA when she finishes matric. She feels that tutors are doing more than enough to ensure that every learner gets the best tuition every weekend. Her wish is to see all the learners in the project pass with good grades.
