The Free State National Science Week was held at the Fezile Dabi Resource Centre in Kroonstad from 2 - 6 August 2010. The theme for the week was "The role of Science in the Economic Development".
Different companies and people were invited to give a talk as well as a demonstration to the FET learners on different career options and how these contribute to the economy of the country.
The Department of Water Affairs, SANBS, STATSSA, ER Rescue Services and Maths Centre, were among the people invited for the week.
Learners from high schools around Fezile Dabi District, i.e. Kroonstad, Viljoenskroon and Steynsrus were chosen to attend. Below are some of the pictures of activities that took place.

| Grade 11 Learners were taught how to use ICT. A lot of activities in Science were demonstrated and learners were given a chance to work on the computers. |
Paramedics were also invited to showcase their work. Here they were showing how they attend to a road accident victim. They gained access to the wrecked vehicle using the Jaws of Life after which they stabalised the accident victim and lifted him into an ambulance. |
