Each year Maths Centre thanks its funders and partners with a Partners in Performance Lunch. This year's event was held on 17 September 2010. The theme for the event was Maths,Science and Technology: Gateway subjects to skills development and youth employability.
This year we were graced by the presence of Honorable John Pampallis on behalf of Dr. Blade Nzimande, The Minister of Higher Education.
Carmen Adams, Career Development Projects Manager at merSETA had a talk about Maths, Science and Technology, gateway subjects for employment in manufacturing engineering.
Lavelle Nomdo, Johannesburg Economic Hub Programme Manager for skills development talked about Skills development, the dire shortages and consequences.
After all the very informative speeches, time was made for some Questions and Answers.
There is alway time for some fun during the Partners in Performance Lunch. Maths Centre's Materials Development Unit Manager, Welma Malherbe presented Welma's willful atoms.
