ICT workshop held for ECD Level 4 FET ETDP Seta accredited training for ECD practitioners PDF Print E-mail

On the 25th May 2013, fourteen practitioners from the UBS project completing their Level 4 ECD certificate programme attended a one day ICT workshop at the Maths Centre. Some of them had never worked on a computer.

World Maths Day Celebrated in the Western Cape PDF Print E-mail

To celebrate World Maths Day, the Western Cape Maths Centre team transformed their office into a Numeracy Hub. Guests enjoyed a two hour session filled with fun activities and shared information on the Western Cape scope of work in the Western Cape Education Department (WCED) Literacy and Numeracy intervention project.

World Maths Day celebrated in the North West PDF Print E-mail

As the world celebrated World Maths Day, so did the learners at Bophepa Primary in Wolmaransstad in the North West province.

The schools were given sample activities to do. The activities included problem solving, board games, spinner games and the learners had to test out new equipment such as the treadle wheel.

Maths Centre staff attends Geometro workshop PDF Print E-mail

On 15 February some thirty Maths Centre staff members attended a hands-on Geometro workshop. The workshop was conducted by Aniceta Skowron, founder of Geometro, a Ontario (Canada) based developer of materials and programs for teaching geometry and its application to science.
